RULES FOR PLAYING BOCCE

OBJECT OF THE GAME:

Bocce is played with eight (8) large Bocce balls and one (1) small target ball called the "Pallino"(Pa-Lee-No).  The object of the game is to roll the bocce ball closest to the "Pallino".  There are four (4) balls per team.  You can play one (1) to four (4) players on a team.  Two (2) teams are stationed at the same end of the court for each "Frame".  Games are usually played to twelve (12) points, but you can decide on another number is you so choose.

START OF THE MATCH:

The match shall begin with the flip/toss of a coin between the captains from each team.  The winner of the coin flip/toss may choose between either having the first toss of the "pallino", or choosing the color of the balls for the team.  First toss of the "Pallino" is always perfered over color.

PLAYING THE GAME:

The player who originally tosses the "pallino" rolls the first bocce ball.  Their ball is now the closest to the "pallino".  The other team now rolls their bocce ball(s) until they are closest to the "pallino".  The teams alternate like this until all the Bocce balls are played.  If a Bocce ball hits the back wall of the court without hitting the "pallino" or another Bocce ball first, it is considered a dead ball and is taken off the court until the start of the next "FRAME".

SCORING:

The team with the Bocce ball(s) closest to the "pallino" makes one (1) point for every ball that is closer to the "pallino" than their opponets closest ball.  This ends the "Frame".  The teams then play another "Frame" from the opposite end of the court.
Going back and forth until one team reaches "Game Point".  The team scoring the frame tosses the "pallino" to start the next frame.
